“Shaher Saad”, the Secretary-General of the Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions, mourned the two martyrs "Rami Abdullah Bader – 32 years old" and "Ibrahim Zakaria Al Hadidi – 29 years old" who died on 13 August at a workshop in “Ras Al Ain” in the occupied Triangle. Both of them are from “Beit Leqya” village, west of “Ramallah”.
The incident took place when the two victims fell from a construction scaffold, resulting in serious injuries that caused their deaths. As a result, the number of victims of work accidents in the Israeli labor market raised to reach 27 since the beginning of 2018.
“Shaher Saad” called on the Palestinian workers to be careful and cautious, asking them not to do anything without providing them with the occupational safety and health equipment, including "cables" used by scaffolding workers, and to avoid working in the heat in the fields of construction and agriculture, in order to avoid such incidents and ensure their safety, which is already threatened by the negligence and disregard of the Israeli employers, who deprive them of equipment and means of occupational health and safety, to reduce the number of injuries resulting from work, as some of them end with death.
“Saad” accused the Israeli Ministry of Labor and the Histadrut institution for being responsible of the safety of the Palestinian workers, denouncing their disregard to tighten the control on the workshops and calling for the implementation of the appropriate penalties for the violating employers, in accordance with the law and provide the fair and appropriate treatment to the Palestinian and Arab workers.
