The union committee of workers of the Egyptian Company for the transfer of the electric power in Suez, which employs about 2500 workers, filed a complaint to the Director General of the Manpower Directorate in Suez, last Sunday, against the officials of the Egyptian Company for the transfer of the electric power and the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company.
This complaint comes as a result of the companies' refusal to grant the employees the special allowance approved by Law No. 96 of 2018, which grants the native workers, who are not in compliance with the provisions of the Civil Service Law, a special allowance of 10 per cent of the basic wage of a minimum of 65 pounds, starting from 1 July 2018.
The employees confirmed that the two companies have just put the exceptional premium in the amounts paid on the comprehensive wage, and not of the basic wage, in violation of the law, asking for the implementation of the provisions of the unified labor law No. 12 of 2003 and the provisions of Law No. 96 of 2018 on the special allowance.
The union committee of the employees in the Egyptian Company for the transfer of the electric power in Suez called on the President and the Prime Minister to intervene to redress them and to achieve justice in favor of the company employees, in light of the prevailing state of tension among workers against their injustice and unfairness.
