Tunisia: The conclusion of the second edition of “the Academy of Young Trade Union Leaders”

The second edition of the Academy of Young Trade Union Leaders in the Middle East and North Africa was concluded Wednesday (July 18th) in Gammarth, Tunisia.

Over five days, with the participation of a number of experts and specialists, a number of young trade unionists from Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania, Libya, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine and Iraq participated in the session organized by the Arab Trade Union Confederation, in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert foundation.

During this session, the focus was on the participation of young people in a number of training sessions to improve their communication and negotiation skills, group training and campaign management, as well as, conflict management.

The participants also benefited from the history and concepts of the economic developments in the Middle East and North Africa, especially from “the irregular sector” and the development of employment, as well as, the issue of the transformation of the labor market and its impact on the trade union activity.

A third training session for young unionists will be scheduled for next September in Marrakech, Morocco.
