“Rasem Al-Bayari,” the deputy secretary-general of the Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions, confirmed that the union's support of the employees of the Jordan Kuwait Bank, according to a statement issued by the union in partnership with the two unions of bank employees and accountants.
The signatory unions of the statement declared their solidarity and full support to the demands of the employees, in the light of the coalition of the Jordan Kuwait Bank with Al Quds Bank and thus the transfer of employees and their subjection to a new management; which may end up in the arbitrary dismissal of some workers.
The General Federation and the unions of the employees of banks and accountants formed a committee to follow up the crisis and to defend the employees of the Jordan Kuwait Bank, in accordance with the law and the observance of the Palestinian laws dealing with this type of problem, especially Article (37) of the Palestinian Labor Law and Article (67) of the Palestinian banks’ Law, and the Palestinian Ministry of Labor's book on restructure, taking into account the invalidity of the bank's letter to the Ministry of Labor because it was sent after the start of the coalition and the restructure .
The Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions and the unions of the employees of banks and accountants stressed that all employees must be included in the process of transfer, without any exception or any violation of their rights, ranks and privileges. All employees are urged not to submit to any pressure or sign any new agreements, resignations or contracts outside the law, and to inform the Follow-up Committee of the latest developments and details with the workers.
