The judiciary stops the strike of the aircraft technicians in Algeria Airways

The Dar Al Baida court ruled on Sunday to freeze the open strike launched by Algerian aircraft maintenance technicians, which was expected to take place on Tuesday until settling the case, next Sunday.

Following this ruling, the air maintenance technicians’ union of Algeria Airways issued a statement declaring its compliance with the court's decision and confirming its "respect for the judges’ decision", declaring a temporary freeze on the strike but without retracting its demands.

The union has announced that it will launch an open-ended strike starting on Tuesday, before it was suspended on Monday from the court’s order.

The Algeria Airways has been witnessing financial problems for years, and in last March it took advantage of the rescheduling of its debts with creditor banks as part of its fleet renewal, which began in 2013, with the extension in the repayment dates to 2021.
