Workers of the railway company in the province of Tabriz, northeastern Iran, organized last week a protest rally against the delay in the payment of their salaries for four months.
According to the labor news agency Elna, workers have cut off the railway linking Tabriz with the rest of the provinces, including the capital, Tehran, noting that the protesters asked for payment of their delayed salaries for four months, chanting slogans against the Ministry of Transport and the company's management.
The company workers of "Nishapur" city in northeastern Iran, protested as well, and cut the road linking the province of "Mashad" with the rest of Iranian cities; because of the delay of the government to pay their salaries.
It is noteworthy that Iran is witnessing an economic crisis due to the US sanctions and the siege imposed on all the government sectors, making the government of president, “Hassan Rouhani”, unable to pay the salaries of some government institutions.
