Five workers from the sewage treatment company at “Abu Qakrqas” center, south of Minya province have entered in a 12-day hunger strike inside “Al-Fekria” central hospital to protest against the administration's passing of penalties and the arbitrary transfer of workers to areas far from their current workplaces.

They affirmed that the cause of their strike is the signing of the punitive and arbitrary measures and their transfer to distant places.

The employees explained that despite the fact that they have been working for more than 12 years and have received excellent quality work reports, the subsidiary manager has been accused of negligence in work, explaining that the main reason behind their transfer is the subsidiary manager's belief that they were the cause behind his loss in the last union elections.

The protestors stressed the continuation of the strike, asking the governor of Minya to intervene and cancel their arbitrary transfer and to investigate about the incident.
