In a seminar: the need to neutralize the salaries of retirees from political disputes between the conflicting parties in Yemen

Officials, researchers and representatives of civil society organizations agreed on the need to neutralize the salaries of state employees and pensioners, including the military, and to ensure their regular disbursement without procrastination or delay, as the salary is guaranteed by the constitution and the law.

This was during a seminar on the rights of retirees organized by the Yemeni Center for Historical Studies and Future Strategies (Manarat) last week in Sanaa.

During the meeting, they discussed the local and international legal rights that guarantee the full and undiminished legal right under various circumstances for the pensioner's pension without delay or procrastination or any excuses, in light of the many bad humanitarian consequences experienced by the pensioner due to the interruption of his retirement pension.

The difficult of the humanitarian situation was also discussed as a result of the interruption of pensions. A committee of civil society organizations was called upon to visit the retired fighters of the Yemeni revolution to ascertain the reality of their living conditions and to report them to the political and executive officials who release their pensions. At a time when some of those, who have ties with the officials had the favor to be paid, while most of the others were illegally deprived of their retirement pensions.

It was emphasized that the military pensioner has nothing to do with the political disputes, and therefore the rights of the pensioners must be excluded from the political life, which may deprive the beneficiary of his right without taking into account his bad conditions.
