The Moroccan League for the Defense of Human Rights expressed its concerns for the scandal of the exploitation and sexual harassment of the seasonal Moroccan working women in the strawberry fields in Spain and its discontent towards the government's handling of the scandal, calling the Moroccan government to change its employment policy in order to guarantee the insurance of dignity for the different workers inside and outside the country.

Morocco has not ratified yet the International Labor Conventions No. 97 on Migrant Workers and No.143 on migration, which is considered by the jurists and trade unionists as an unjustified evasion of the Morocco's international commitments towards both immigrants and migrant workers and a cover to justify the reciprocal treatment of the Moroccan migrant workers in the foreign countries.
In fact, more than 20 female workers in the strawberry fields in the region of Huelva lodged complains to the Spanish Civil Guard and the Workers’ Union in Andalusia, while the Spanish human rights organizations conducted field investigations that resulted in the adoption of dozens of complaints.
