Three workers were killed and 11 others were injured, including four in serious situation after the collapse of the soybean silo Nile Company for shipping and discharge in Alexandria.
Trade union sources said that this incident revealed a clear absence of the most basic standards of the occupational safety and health in enterprises and there is a definite need for a real change in the implementation of safety conditions.
The workers of the company called on the government to give the victims’ families the necessary care and preserve their legal rights and to start the actual program with all the parties to apply the occupational safety and health standards in the Egyptian establishments.
