The owners of the taxi offices in Jordan threatened to strike in case they do not meet with the Prime Minister to complain about their accumulated problems and discuss decisions that affected the public transport sector.
The owners of public transportation expressed their anger over many measures that they considered as harmful to the sector, including the government allowance of third-party driving license holders to pay for the smartphone application system instead people of the fourth category license.
Earlier, the government raised the value of the permit allowing private vehicles to operate the smart application system, to raise the value of the capital required of companies wishing to use smartphone applications, in addition to raising the value of the bank guarantee to be submitted and to impose 100 thousand dinars on companies for licensing. All these measures were considered by the workers of the sector as contributing to great losses and damaged the public transport sector.
