Egypt's political and social spectrum demanded a minimum wage of at least 3000 pounds for workers to provide a decent life for them and their families.
Those concerned with the labour issue confirm that the poor worker is the only one to bear the decision to raise the prices of fuel, which increased by 35%, and led to the increase of all the necessary goods.
Other labour voices rose to demand the rise of the social renumeration from 250 to 500 pounds in view of the rise in prices.
The social parties called on the new government to call the National Council for wages pursuant to Article 24 of the Labour Law 12 of 2003, to identify the minimum wage at the national level, taking into account the living expenses, and to find the means and measures to ensure a balance between wages and prices.
