Jordan: Employees of the Joint Council for Services in Irbid governorate are protesting.

The Joint Council for Services in Irbid governorate carried out a strike on June 8 in protest against the non-payment of their incentives and bonuses for more than four months, in addition to the rejection of the decision of the Minister of Municipalities to transfer the President of the Council to the Ministry.

The protesters criticized the minister's decision to move the council president to Amman and appoint another from another ministry, pointing out that the post of president of the council needs qualifications and expertise.

The workers closed “Al-Akider” landfill and prevented the municipal vehicles loaded with waste from entering it. This lead to garbage accumulation in front of the landfill, waiting for the workers to suspend the strike they had started since the morning.
