The Regional Union of Workers in Tataouine decided to suspend the strike scheduled for 18, 19 and 20 June in all fields of the Development and Exploitation of Southern Petroleum License (SODEPS) in protest against the failure of the public administration and its inability to manage the company.
The sources said that the reasons for the suspension of the strike are due to interference at the level of the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Tunisian General Union of Labour (UGTT) to hold a conciliation session at the level of the General Directorate of Labour Inspection and Reconciliation to find the necessary solutions to the outstanding professional and social problems suffered by the company.
It is noteworthy that the trade union party had earlier postponed the strike in order to open the way to deepen the negotiations and solve the chronic problems of workers, and despite its sobriety and flexibility, the administrative side continued its intransigence and refusal to interact positively with the proposals of the trade union aimed at reducing the social tension experienced by the institution , through a session of negotiations held at the governorate headquarters attended by representatives of the management and workers.
