A number of Spanish unions like the Andalusian Workers Union (SAT) revealed that the authorities are seeking to deport 300 Moroccan working women, after being dismissed by their employers, following the sexual harassment scandal.
The unions said in a communiqué issued on Tuesday that the employers in the Spanish province of Huelva were upset by the attempts of the Moroccan working women to reveal their difficult conditions and harassment.
The unions pointed out that the workers were threatened with deportation by their Spanish employers, to prevent them from completing the legal proceedings against their aggressors in the Spanish strawberry fields.
On the other hand, trade unions reported that seasonal workers work ten hours a day in harsh conditions for less than 20 euros, in addition to the poor housing conditions, where six workers stay in housing that do not meet the necessary conditions, noting that all of these violations were documented in reportages.
The unions called on the Spanish government to withdraw the public aid from the agricultural enterprises that violate the legal conditions for the seasonal working women.
