The workers of the company "Central Danone" (CDA), a subsidiary of the French group "Danone”, held a strike in front of the Moroccan parliament, yesterday, to protest against the loss of their jobs, following the boycott of a large community of the Moroccan society of its products for up to two months because of the high prices.
The protesting workers blamed the Moroccan government for reducing the purchasing power of the citizen.
The boycott of the company's products promoted in the social networking sites, last April, affected the company's sales, causing losses of 150 million dirhams in the first half of this year, according to experts said.
Last week, the company announced its intention to reduce its purchases of farm milk by 30% and lay off short-term workers, estimated at 1000 workers, which lead to the intensification of the protests.
