The Rafic Hariri International Airport is witnessing a tense period due to the strike of the employees of the Lebanese Air Transport Company at the entrance to the company's administration at the airport to ask for the raising in their wages and the improvement of their working conditions.
The workers accuse the management of their company by being indolent, as it didn’t meet the commitments that have been adhered to, for more than a year, especially in terms of improving salaries. In fact, they are paid less than the minimum, and the administration is dividing their thirteenth month in premiums of 12 months, despite the hard work they do in serving more than 13 airlines.
For their part, the air traffic controllers at the airport carried out a protest, asking the Council of Ministers to approve the executive mechanism of the article about for the series of ranks and salaries of the observers, and the extension of the special contracts for the contractors of air observers, which will end at the end of this month.
