Mauritania: Contracted teachers demand their delayed salaries

Mauritania – A number of teachers protested against their delayed salaries of four months, teachers protestors said that the reason for their protest is the question about their salaries, which was delayed for four months and entering the fifth month without being questioned by the real reason behind it.

The teachers also said they are asking about the promise of Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz in the demarcation, and that some of them enter his fifth year as a contracted worker as he wishes to get permanently hired to end his contracting years.

The teachers called on the free zone and regional administration to include them in the list of workers support and to get land plots similar to their official counterparts, indicating that their demands are clear that they should know the fate of their salaries and the list of beneficiaries of land plots as teachers served the homeland and taught generations in the city.
