Jordan – The issue of dozens of employees and workers of Al-Abyad Fertilizers and Chemicals Company remains in place, despite the ongoing escalation measures carried out by the Union of Mines and Mining.
The Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining, Mohamed Hijja, said that the vigil carried out by the workers last Sunday before the Ministry of Labor resulted in promises made by the conciliator in the ministry to go to the prime minister and reopen the file again to find a solution.
We have been very serious about the Ministry of Labor, especially by Minister Ali al-Ghazzawi, who promised to move and work as far as possible to resolve the issue, he said, adding that the government could gather partners and negotiate with them.
He stressed that the union has a progressive program to achieve the demands of workers and employees fairly.
The employees of the White Company for Fertilizers and Chemicals finally held a sit-in in front of the prime minister to demand intervention to solve their problem, where the police forces interfered to end the sit-in. the protesters are demanding their salaries to be paid in arrears for a period of more than four months as well as getting all their labor rights.
The employees of the company appealed to the competent and responsible authorities to quickly intervene to pressure the Gulf investor to grant them their acquired rights.
It is noteworthy that the factory of the White Fertilizers and Chemicals has been closed for several months without payment of salaries and entitlements of workers in the plant.
