Bahrain – Deputy Secretary-General of the Bahrain General Federation of Trade Unions Abdul Qader Al-Shihabi said that there are 62 African workers working in a company for 12 hours continuously and their reward is a meal of rice and lentil. He added: If we want to portray the reality, there is one company where its workers are is still suffering for more than 5 months. Workers have not been paid and no step has been made to address the issue, and all statements and promises are nothing but words without action, this will lead to the escape of the business capital and the countrys reputation will be in danger. He added, “the ministry better shut down the labour inspection office, as there is no point in monitoring cases without finding solutions for workers. He said the company force 62 African workers to work for 12 hours a day and the wage is rice and lentils meal, without being paid any amount of money. The Bahrain General Federation of Trade Unions has arranged a food basket and offered coupons to enable workers to live in the minimum. He pointed out that the company has 170 workers, 40 of them are Bahrainis, who have not received their salaries for five months.
