Kuwait – The electricity and water workers strike was launched on Twitter by Hastag (# electricity _water _workers strike) to express their displeasure after reports that the remote areas service allowance had been cut off from the Ministry of Electricity and Water employees.
People on twitter called for a strike, saying the abolition of this allowance is a violation to the right of workers which is cannot be tolerated.
Some appealed to the Minister of Electricity and Water to give back workers the allowance and without prejudice to their entitlements. They said that the union is responsible for these employees should work to solve their problems, and they noted that they do not want clash, but if necessary we will have to protest. Some of the Hashtag users appealed to the employees of the Electricity and Water Company not to strike, saying that the citizens of Kuwait depended on them to solve the problems of frequent power cuts.
