Palestine – The number of work injuries was more than 6,000 during last year, according to the insurance companies, with expectations that the real figure is much higher, especially as some employers do not report the injuries to workers.
Minister of Labor Mamoun Abu Shahla said that many achievements were made by the ministry in order to improve the conditions of workers and reduce the number of injuries during work, the most important of which is the legal level, where the ministry issued many decisions that would criminalize employers who are deficient in the issue of safety.
Abu Shahla stressed that the ministry also worked to raise the awareness of the workers of their rights, and the need to pay attention to safety conditions in the workplace.
