Egypt: textile workers strike to claim their financial dues

Egypt – More than (1200) workers in a textile factory in Salhiya organized a strike to claim their financial dues. One of the workers said that all workers entered the strike because they had not received their salaries so far. The salaries were supposed to be paid yesterday, but we were surprised that the factory management gave each worker a form to sign and after reading it turned out to be an agreement to leave the factory without claiming  any rights, we refused to sign so the management refused to pay our salaries. Another worker added that in the recent period, the management of the factory has started liquidating workers and deduct from the salaries, he also said that they wand to dismiss us without any legal obligation, so we are on a strike and we want our entitlements. For its part, the security forces intensified their presence around the textile factory, in anticipation emergency inside the factory.
