The strike of the “Al Omraa for ceramics factory workers continues for about two weeks withouta clear response to their demands by the management of their institution.
The workers made a statement in which they expressed their anger to the Minister of Manpower demanding urgent intervention to solve their problems and to respond to their demands, otherwise they would have to escalate their protest movements.
The workers are asking forthe raise of their wages and the payment of their financial dues. In addition, they are asking for the reformation and reconstruction of the union committee from the outset, as well as the formation of a steering committeeby election.They also called for a 7-day consolidation with the annual leave because of the company dangers, where the company falls under the risk line.
In the meantime, the administration considers that there are legal and other illegal demands and confirmed that the 7% bonus has been paid.
