Bahrain – Workers of a construction company complained about delayed salaries for about 6 months. The head of the union, Youssef Ibrahim, said that the union met with the Executive Director earlier, and agreed to solve the problem of salaries before the month of Ramadan. He pointed out that the company sent letters to all employees in April, and sent a copy to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, promising them to pay all delayed salaries. “Foreign workers are suffering lack of food because restaurants are refusing to provide them with food” he added. This came on the sidelines of a gathering organized by the union in front of the company to protest against the delayed salaries.
