Bahrain – The head of the National Labour Organization, Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, Osama bin Abdullah al-Absi, announced that they signed an agreement with the National Human Rights Foundation (NHRI) to open an office within the Center for the Protection and Support of migrant Workers. The office is considered the first of it kind to provide comprehensive services for migrant workers which provide preventive and extension services for migrant workers, and includes a shelter for victims or potential traffickers. Absi pointed out that with the opening of Human Rights office, through a representative who starts work in the center directly, the services provided by the Kingdom to protect the migrant workers victims would be completed. It is noteworthy that the shelter center which operates under the umbrella of the Protection and Support of migrant workers Center provides full services to victims or potential victims, such as security protection, medical services (periodic check-up with volunteers from a number of private hospitals), mental health services (in cooperation with social researchers), legal consultancy (provide legal advice for migrant workers and assist himin reaching a settlement.)
