Egypt- Workers of the Suez Canal Company, affiliated to Suez Canal Authority, refused on Monday to allow Engineer Issam Dabash, the chairman of the board of directors to leave his office, to protest the delay in the payment of the allowance approved by the House of Representatives. The chairman of the board of directors, Essam Dabash, received a fax last Wednesday from the Suez Canal Authority stating that as of July 1, 2016, the employees of the companies will receive a special bonus of 10% of the basic salary. He added that were due to receive an amount of 4 to 6 thousand pounds per worker according to seniority. He pointed out that the financial management of the company began to calculate the dues of workers, but a new fax arrived at the company that requested the management to stop distributing the allowances. The new fax said that workers should be paid the approved allowances according to the years of service multiplied by only 11 months, which means that workers will only receive one thousand pound. Some of the workers decided to protest in front the companys headquarters waiting for the administrations promises to resolve the matter and return it to the Board of Directors of the Authority, and were surprised today by a new decision not to deal with any of the previous faxes and stop paying the allowances.
