Palestine – Israeli police last night arrested a 33-year-old man resident of Deir al-Assad village accused of providing an overnight stay in an apartment he owned in Karmiel for workers from the occupied West Bank without permits to enter the country. The Court is expected to hear the police request to extend the mans detention on Monday. The police claimed that the owner of the apartment from Deir al-Assad provided accommodation for nine workers (17-24 years) from Jenin, Ramallah and Nablus without permits to enter the country. The police alleged that they caught a suspect inside a refrigerator and another inside the kitchen cabinet under the dishwasher and others inside a wardrobe etc. They were transferred to the investigation. Arab towns in the 1948 territories are witnessing intensive search for workers, as the police arrest on a daily basis workers from the West Bank and Gaza who have come to work and provide a living for their families.
