Egypt- Omar Afandi company workers filed a lawsuit against Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, the Minister of Planning, and the Chairman of the National Council of Wages. Labib, one of Omar Afandis workers, said the workers filed the lawsuit in State Council last Thursday after she ignored workers letter that demanded a fair minimum wage in accordance with article 34 of the Labour Law 12 of 2003. The main reason is the high rate of inflation and the decline in purchasing power of the pound after the decision to float, which has had a negative impact on the lives of workers and the high cost of living Labib said, demanding for a fair wage for workers, especially those working in the public business sector, in light of the failure to apply the minimum wage of 1200 pounds, like employees of the administrative apparatus of the state.
