Egypt: Public transport workers demand their incentives

Egypt- Dozens of Public Transport Authority employees in Alexandria protested in front of the Authority’s headquarters to demand the 10% incentive on the total salaries, as it was calculated on the basic basis only. Workers surrounded the head of Authority’s office, Major General Khaled Aliwa, security forces intervened to protect him, while the workers moved the demonstration in the inner courtyard of the headquarters. . Issam Maarouf, one of the drivers at the Authority, said: We were surprised by the 10 percent incentive on the basic salary, even though they had already told us that it will be calculated on the total salary, it made huge difference to us because we suffer difficult living conditions in the country. We came today to demand officials to re-consider the incentive and calculate it on the total salary.
