Egypt: Sugar factory workers protest to demand the cost of living allowance

Egypt- Hundreds of workers at the Nagaa Hammadi sugar factories held a sit-in in the factory to demand the addition of the cost of living allowance to the basic wage of 20% and to include the profits, incentives and allowances. The protesters demanded the need to increase the meal allowance to 600 pounds, and to increase the periodic allowance from 7% to 10%, and increase the incentive to 50% to the current incentive, like the rest of the sugar factories in the Republic. Engineer Adel Ayoub, head of the factories sector, said that the workers in the factory joined together with the rest of the sugar factories in demanding improvement of their living conditions.
