Kuwait: deportation for workers who participated in a protest

Kuwait – the results of a protest held by Asian migrant workers to demand their rights came contrary to what they were hoping for, they were sent to a police station and they are threatened to be deported. The workers protested for three days to demand their late salary but they were surprised when police raid their house and arrested a number of them and detained them in police station, as the company filed a complaint that they were absent, and therefore they are waiting to be deported for violating the law. The detained workers explained that they did not wish to protest, they had no other choice to push the company to pay the late salaries. The Asian workers pointed out that they need to resolve their problem because if they get deported from the country they will not get their late salaries, nor they receive end of service benefits, especially since some of them have worked for nearly 15 years in the same company.
