Algeria: Sosial fund explodes anger among postal sector and telecommunications workers

Algeria – Hundreds of the postal, technology and digital sector unions protested at the Algiers Telecom headquarters in Mohamadiya, demanding the settlement of the workers rights and the departure of Federal President Mohamed Chulak and their support for what they called reforms of Minister Huda Iman Faroun. During the rally, the protesters demanded the return of funds for the social services of the workers of the sector as well as the restoration of the federation properties so workers could benefit from it. And stop dismissing trade union activists and give the sector the necessary stability in order for it to develop and apply the laws. The Secretary-General of the Algerian Telecom Union, Mustafa Okal, said that stability is essential for the institution and the sector, Okal stressed during his statement that he believes that the reasons that led to his arbitrarily dismissal from the head of the Algerian Telecom Union because the General Inspectorate of Finance has done its work with regard to social services funds, while the Chairman of the Contribution Committee Bouaziz Karim, said that the exclusion of their right was caused by the denial of the loss of funds for social solidarity services.
