Morocco- The Cabinet approved two draft decrees concerning domestic workers, submitted by the Minister of Labour and Professional Integration. In a press statement, the government spokesman Mustafa al-Khaliji, said in a press statement that the first text relates to draft decree No. 355-17-2 defining the model of the employment contract for the worker or domestic worker. He explained that this law aims at providing the necessary legal protection for domestic workers, by documenting the working relationship between the parties and determining their mutual obligations, in order to prevent any abuse that could affect the rights and interests of this segment, which will enter into force on August 10. This decree includes a number of procedures, such as the inclusion of the basic data that must be available in the employment contract of the worker or domestic worker, which are consistent with the provisions of article 7 of the International Labor Organization Convention No. 189 concerning decent work for women workers and domestic workers. He added that seven basic texts were made concerning data on the parties to the contract, determining the nature of the work and the task, probationary period, the period of work, weekly rest and annual holidays, and determining salaries.
