Algeria – The railway traffic in the capital stopped after a sudden protest movement by its workers, which lasted nearly two hours to demand security in the trains, following the attack on a colleague inside a train in Beir Tuta, according to the General Directorate of the National Corporation of Rail Transport. The Assistant Director General, Agut Jamal, said that the railway traffic in the capital has resumed throughout the entire railway network after a suspension for more than two hours. We have talked with the workers and an agreement has been reached to work on measures to strengthen security within the train network and in the stations, he said. Agut Jamal explained that workers demand to strengthen security across the various stations and trains on the eastern and western suburbs of the capital, especially after one of the workers was attacked inside a train while he was working. In this regard, the official confirmed that the workers stopped the protest movement and returned to work after the Ministry of Transport reassured workers representatives to take measures to strengthen the security and safety of the employees.
