Tunisa – The participants in the sit-in of the so-called group of 17 refugees within the headquarters of the Tunisian League for the Defense of Human Rights, decided to leave the headquarters of the Association, giving the government 24 hours to respond seriously to their file. They also threatened to transfer of the sit-in to Habib Bourguiba Street and to go on a hunger strike. On May 5, 2017, the Al-Samoud protestors carried out an open hunger strike that lasted until July 1, followed by another hunger strike. Following these moves, the group 17 was consisting of 10 females and 7 males on 19 July. The group is demanding employment and they denounced criticized the governments disregard of their file.
