Yemen: Electricity workers in Hadramout strike to demand the dismissal of the Director General

Yemen – Electricity workers in the Wadi Hadramout area went on a strike and raised red badges to demand the dismissal of the Director General. The Electricity Coordination Council of Wadi Hadramawt region has sent a letter to the Governor of Hadramout Province and the Commander of the Second Military Region, Maj. Gen. Faraj Salemin Al-Bassani, entitled The suffering of employees from the administrative and financial policy and the administrative vacuum at the General Electricity Corporation, in which they expressed their concerns and raised the demands of the workers and demanded the dismissal of the Director General of Wadi Hadramout Valley, they threatened to go on a general strike if their demands not met. The letter specified a number of demands that the administration should implement, the most prominent of which is the payment of workers wages according to legal regulations. They also demanded the dismissal of the heads of the departments according to the provisions of the resolution circulated by the General Administration on 12 June 2014. the release of a letter to the Civil Service Department to issue a decision on workers that have recently conducted a functional footprint to complete their recruitment procedures.
