Bahrain – The 1912 trainees called upon the Prime Minister and the Minister of Labour and Social Development to seek a radical solution to their situation. The trainees demanded that they be emploed in the Ministry of Municipalities, where they worked and acquired the experience that qualifies them for the priority of employment by the certificate of officials in the concerned ministry. The trainees said in a letter sent to the Prime Minister: The Ministry of Labour notified us in September 2016 the termination of our temporary contracts, however, the concerned ministries (the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Municipalities) extended the contracts for another three months and then terminated them again in December 2016. Since January this year we have joined the lists of the unemployed, after eight years of hard work to prove our worthiness, we have received promises to get employed. We are surprised that the solution to our case is to close the project and make us unemployed, after all the years of waiting for our dream to fulfill a job that guarantees us a decent living.
