Morocco – Casablanca cleaners are threatening to escalate their protests if authorities continue to ignore their social demands by organizing a general strike in the city, and flood it with trash. The cleaning sector in Casablanca has become more complicated, especially after the city council canceled the contract of Citta Cleaning Company, which was responsible for cleaning and collecting solid waste in the city. The workers of Citta were supposed to continue work with the local development company «Casablanca Services / CasaPrestations» pending the appointment of another company entrusted with the management of this sector. Representatives of cleaning workers threaten to escalate, and are threatening to flood the city in rubbish and garbage if they do meet their social demands.
