Tunisia – 26 companies operating in the oil and chemical fields affiliated to the General Union of Petroleum and Chemicals of the Tunisian General Union of Labour will go on a strike on November 1 in solidarity and support for the workers of the Tunisian Company for Rubber Tires. The workers of the company and the trade union side accuse the employer of pursuing a starvation policy and abuse workers and violate trade union freedoms and the decent work, and transfer many workers and trade union representatives to the Disciplinary Board and expelling them. Workers also accuse the employer of deliberately closing the factory that employs more than 1000 workers. Workers of the company demand the Tunisian authorities TO open an investigation into the circumstances of the divestment of their shares, manipulation and corruption, and to covert the companys debts into shares for the benefit of the State, as well as the demand to reopen the branches of the company and the urgent disbursement of entitlements and workers financial rights.
