Tunisia: TV journalists to protest

Tunisia  – On November 9, journalists at the National Television Institution will raise  red badges in a move that aim at defending the gains of free and fair media, journalists say that the TV administration is not responding to their demands and they want to protest the low level of media content. The National Union of Tunisian Journalists  called for the protest and it said in a joint statement with the TV station, that they are  willing to fight and struggle, and even declare a strike, in order to defend the independence of this institution. The Press Syndicate expressed its rejection of the situation ant this institution , calling on the Prime Minister to assume his responsibility and accelerate the reform of the laws governing the institution, and ensure its independence from all political influences.
