Algeria: The Ministry of Education punish teachers who went on strike by abandoning them and cutting their wages

The Ministry of Education decided to punish striking professors by cutting off all contact with them and with any employee who enters into a strike, as well as preventing them from receiving any administrative documents of any kind during the period of the strike.

The teachers affiliated with the National Council of Independent Education Users of the three-phase of education the Cnapeste organized an open-ended strike on four states: “TiziOuzou”, “Bejaia”, “Skikda” and “Blida”. In addition,other protest movements will be launched by the national committee for vocational and educational guidance belonging to the Union of National Workers of Education and Training UNPEF on the next 15 and 16 January, condemning what it consideredto be a procrastination of the ministry in resolving the outstanding issues and old – new demands.

 Protesters asked also for the maintenance of external recruitment with a university degree in applied studies in view of the specificity of this service, in addition to the threats of the strike launched by the national committee of workers in the economic sector to cut supplementary management for all works starting from next January.

It is noteworthy that the ministry hasfrozen the granting of ”recruitments to trade unionists that should be granted to them at the beginning of the back-to-school, which makes the trade unions activity without a licensecurrently.
