The head of the labour court revealed that the UAE has witnessed over 11,000 cases of labour disputes in the last ten months, including 73% of which were dismissal cases. He highlighted that Dubai courts have expanded the mobile labour courts initiative, which contributed to speeding up the action of collective labour cases and countering the noticeable rise in the number of labour cases.
Statistics have shown that mobile labour courts dealt with 120 collective labour cases, especially after the creation of Dubai Labour Courts administration a judicial department for collective action. Most of these cases were related to salary delays.
The figures has also shown that the Labour Court has dealt with 11,000 labour cases since the beginning of last year until October, while the number of cases considered during the last year was 9501 cases. The number of cases to be considered by the Dubai Labour Court by the end of this year would be more than 12 thousand cases.
