The management of one of the textile factories in the city of Meknes expelled deliberately more than 700 workers in a sudden way and without the empowerment of workers to get their dues and rights since last October.
It is expected that the workers will carry out a protest march in the next few days. In addition, they will escalate their protests under the supervision of their union and with the participation of a number of civil society components to denounce the violation of the laws by the factory management and to protest against their miserable social situations after losing their work.
The trade union party blamedtheconcerned authoritiesof being fully responsible for this problem, who did not make any attempt to look for solutions for workers and to oblige the lessor to open the factory and pay the workers’ wages.
Since last October, the evicted workers have been suffering daily and their children have had to leave school for resorting to protest daily in front of the factory headquarters.
