The Ministry of Finance in Ramallah announced that the salaries’ payment of the authoritys employees will be paid from this week and that the periodic bonus for all employees will be distributed at a rate of 1.25%, which will be taken from their basic salary.
It was also decided not to pay the cost of living allowance, but teachers salaries in the West Bank and Gaza Strip will be paid by 5%.
As for lastJanuary pensioners from the police and presidential security, it was decided to spend 70% of their salaries, but the allowance will be deducted from the wife and children bonus from the pension, until the settlement of their status by the Palestinian Pension Authority.
It is noteworthy that the Palestinian Authority cut 30% of the salaries of its employees in the Gaza Strip, during the month of March of last year 2017, as part of the policy of austerity announced by the government recently, which reached Gaza’s employees without the West Bank.
The Palestinian media revealed that there are deliberations in order to issue the final decision either the return of full salaries this month or the next month, and the implementation of the resolution may be related to the political agreement between “Fatah” and “Hamas”.
