EGYPT- More than ten thousand workers at Ghazl El-Mahalla factory began an open strike and sit-in inside the company to demand reimbursement for the rest two month-bonus ratio at the fiscal year 2013/2014 and the need to speed up development plans, and to open corruption files.
Trade union leader, Faisal Lagoucha explained that the company’s management delayed reimbursement the annual profit, which was due in last November. He went on saying that decision of the Minister of Agriculture to stop subsidizing Egyptian cotton cultivation has angered their workers, and gave the impression that company’s development plans were not serious.
