ALGERIA – Public health practitioners in Algeria have threatened to embark on a three-day warning strike beginning on April 27, as a result of “unmet demands”.
Confédérationgénéraleautonome des travailleurs en Algérie (CGATA) has announced the legitimacy of the practitioners’ demands, calling concerned authorities to respond to these demands.
Elias El Mrabet, head of National Union in Public Health Practitioners said minister of health is the one to blame for the protests return to health sector.
He stressed that the ministry is not keeping its promises regarding promotion system and organizing professional contests to promote practitioners, among other demands related to ranking system and consulting health practitioners in drafting a new health law.
