EGYPT— Up to 310,000 Egyptians forcibly returned to their country since 2011, the Ministry of Labour said on Sunday.
In a statement issued by the ministry, it said of those returned workers, 285,000 have applied to the ministry asking for compensations.
The ministry explained that those applicants used to work in Libya and the compensation applications do not include returnees from Yemen, Iraq and Syria.
Last February, the ministry announced that it started receiving applications from returnees from Libya to calculate value of their assets in Libya to address Libyan authorities for compensation once calm is restored in the North African country.
