TUNISIA-Hundreds of people rallied on Saturday, March 27, in Tunis in an expression of ‘solidarity’ with Palestinian people at conclusion of WSF activities, which saw the participation between 40 to 50 thousand people all around the world, according to organizers.
The demonstrators who raised Palestinian flags, chanted: ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘No to normalization with Israel.’
Around 40 to 50 thousand people participated in the WSF from 121 countries, according to Ala’ Talaibi, one of the anti-globalization forum organizers, opened Tuesday in Tunis.
The WSF organizers had wished to participation reaching about 70 thousand; however, the number of Tunisians participants has fallen this year, according toTalaibi.
Talaibi noted that attack on Bardo Museum on March 18 has affected foreign participation.
The WSF, held under motto for a peaceful, more equitable world and environment respect,” and “Another World is Possible” seeks to counter the World Economic Forum (WEF), held annually in Davos, Switzerland.
