ALGERIA- HouariBoumediene Airport employees successfully managed to convince their management to reconsider earlier adopted decisions that they considered as unfair.
These decisions included laying off some workers, while imposing penalties on others.
Reconsidering these decisions came after an announcement by the employees to stage a sit-in.
In a statement to Algerian media, workers’ coordinating committee said the company’s administration decided to annul an earlier decision that stipulates imposing a salary deduction as a penalty against protesters among other decisions related to promotion system.
The management also decided to re-employ the unionist Khleifati Samir, who was previously dismissed, and appoint him in same position and reimburse him for the dismissal period.
